1st case: MSL Manual

User can go to Line Management/ Line Setup to turn off the Yamaha Traceability and raise a ticket to mTrac support to remove the rule hierarchy 'IsEnableMSDValidation'.

In order to manual open and close the MSL, user can go to Material Control > MSD Control > MSD Manual Open (refer to Image 2) or MSL Packing Closing (refer to Image 3).

For Manual MSL Open and Close, if the balance quantity is equal to 0, then system will block user from opening or closing the MSL. Hence, user is can enter 1 in order to close the MSL.

If user check theTrigger Mail For Closing, MES will also sends an email to the user when user wants to close the MSL if the balance life is approaching less than an hour.

Furthermore, for manual open and PLV Line, when the user scan in the MSL part, MES will check if it is opened or closed. If it is not opened, system will open it. Then, user is able to issue the reels to specific work order.

Yet, for Non-PLV Line, Yamaha Traceability will not be available whereby MES will not be able to track by work order. Therefore, user will have to go to individual screen if user wants to check for the balance life of individual reels.

User can go to Material Control > MSD Control > MSL Packing Closing to retrieve the details of each reels. User is required to enter the unique FMID number along with its part number.

There are a few disadvantages for MSL Manual Open and Close which user is required to manually close all the reels even though the quantity is used up, and user have to check reel by reel for those with Non-PLV Line.

2nd Case: Auto MSL

In order to use this feature, user is required to turn on the Yamaha Traceability on Line Setup page and raise a ticket to mTrac support to create the rule hierarchy 'IsEnableMSDValidation'.

For those reels that are using Auto MSL, user is able to have Yamaha Traceability and also user is able to search the work order during Manual PLV.

*Note: For the opened reel, it is able to be used for different work order which means user is able to use one MSL part for different work order to perform offline setup and PLV Scan.

For Manual MSL and Auto MSL, user is able to search for details of the MSL using the page called FMID Balance Life Inquiry. Yet, this page will only display the details of the MSL when the work order is running. If the work order is not yet running or the work order has already closed, user will not be able to retrieve any information.
